Lowell Red Arrows Ride into the MHSAA State Semifinals

The Lowell Red Arrows are heading into the elite stage of their postseason journey. With a stunning 36-34 victory over Zeeland West Dux in the regional final, shutting down their hopes of repeating as champs, Lowell punches their ticket into the MHSAA State Semifinal in Division 3.

The Path So Far

In the first round, Lowell defeated Coldwater Cardinals 49-14.  In the Regional Final on Nov. 14 they edged out Zeeland West by just two points, 36-34 — a game that showcased their resilience and ability to win tight contests.  The win over Zeeland West not only secured the semifinal berth but continued the momentum of a team that appears peaking at just the right time.

By advancing to the state semifinal, Lowell now joins the small group of schools that get to play for a chance at the championship. According to the MHSAA preview, in Division 3 the semifinal matchup is set for Saturday, November 22 at 1:00 p.m. against Mt. Pleasant at Greenville HS.

Keys to Their Success

Balancing offense and defense: With a margin that tight, every yard and every stop mattered in the Zeeland West game. The program has history Lowell has captured state championships in football (2002 Division 2, 2004 Division 3, 2009 Division 2) in earlier years.  This kind of legacy helps young players understand the stakes and expectations.
