Kenowa Hills Football Makes History with First-Ever Win Over Lowell — Knights Take Down Red Arrows 49-35

In a milestone moment for the Kenowa Hills Knights program, the team captured a breakthrough victory over the Lowell Red Arrows on October 3, 2025, defeating them 49-35 at home, marking their first-ever win against Lowell in program history.

A Statement Game

Coming into the matchup, both teams held strong records. According to MaxPreps, Kenowa Hills improved to 5-1 with the win.  The Knights’ offence was firing on all cylinders, while Lowell, previously ranked significantly higher (Lowell was No. 34 in Michigan vs. Kenowa Hills at No. 97), couldn’t keep pace despite solid individual performances.

Lowell’s Wyatt Putnam carried the ball effectively, scoring two touchdowns on 70 yards, while Mitchell Eikey added 105 rushing yards and two more scores on just 13 carries.  But Kenowa Hills was relentless, balancing a potent running game with key big-play moments and capitalization in the red zone.

What Makes It Historic

This victory is more than just another notch in the win column, it’s a watershed moment for Kenowa Hills’ football identity. Historically, Lowell has been a tough matchup for the Knights. In the 2024 meeting, Lowell beat Kenowa Hills 56-35 in their last encounter.  Overturning that result shows real growth under Kenowa Hills’ coaching and roster development.

Plus, the ranking disparity made the win even more meaningful. Despite being the underdog, Kenowa Hills didn’t just compete, they dominated in key phases.

Turning a Corner

Kenowa Hills’ run to this point in 2025 has shown a pattern: play fast, stay physical, and attack on the ground. According to their season recap, the Knights have averaged nearly 45 points per game over their recent home stretch.  That kind of offensive output, paired with a defense capable of bending without breaking, is the formula that built this historic moment.

For Lowell, the loss ends a four-game away winning streak.  But more than that, it’s a wake-up call: the Red Arrows can’t rest on past success, even against teams they’ve handled before.

Looking Forward

For Kenowa Hills, the momentum couldn’t be more perfectly timed. With this landmark victory in the bag, the Knights are poised to make a serious push down the stretch of their season. Their next game will test whether they can ride this wave of confidence further into the playoffs.

Lowell, meanwhile, will regroup. Their talented backs showed up in this game, but the loss likely underscores some areas for recalibration, especially against motivated, improving teams like Kenowa Hills.
