Lake Odessa, MI — On Saturday, July 26, 2025, the Emily Duits Courts at the Lake Odessa Fairgrounds buzzed with energy as the annual Memorial Sand Volleyball Tournament welcomed over 30 teams from Youth, High School, Recreation, Competitive—and for the first time, a new “Glory Days” division—turning the event into a full-day celebration of volleyball, remembrance and community spirit.
Players and fans began arriving bright and early, with competitive and recreational matches kicking off around 8:00 a.m., followed by high school and youth divisions mid-morning . The tournament format featured a mix of 6‑on‑6 for Youth teams and 4‑on‑4 for High School, Recreation, and Competitive brackets. The new Glory Days division, introduced this year, offered informal backyard‑style play with 4–6 players per team for those looking for casual, fun competition earlier in the afternoon.
With more than 30 adult and youth teams competing, the day-long event delivered high-level volleyball, enthusiastic fans, and a joyful atmosphere reminiscent of Em’s love for the sport and community. As teams battled on sand courts, attendees also enjoyed live music, lunch, free ice cream, and a raffle drawing packed with exciting items, ensuring fun for every generation.
