It did not take long for Sparta to assert themselves on Friday night as the visiting Greenville Yellow Jackets were hit early and often with a tenacious flurry of two-way basketball. The early push paid dividends and seemed to shock the vaunted Yellow Jackets.
The Spartans took a lead into the half and momentarily fell behind in the fourth quarter before willing themselves on one more run that gained the lead and guaranteed the Spartans a valuable win over a quality opponent. The Spartans were led in scoring by guard Makayla Hatchew.
